Called to be Giant Killers

I love the bible, I love the stories how there are always overwhelming number of enemies that seem impossible to defeat but yet God gave victory to His people in spite of their dire circumstances. David defeated Goliath, Gideon had only 300 men, Joshua and Caleb defeated the giants in the promised land and many others. My favorite was when Elisha prayed for the servants eyes to be opened and there horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha! (2 Kings 6:17)

You see, the bible says that we are the head and not the tail (Deut 28:13) and we are more than a conqueror (Rom 8:37). I believe those stories are important because in life we face our 'goliath' that we have to overcome. The devil is out there to bring Christians into apathy, into defeat and prevent them from being who God has called them to be.
We all know the famous story of David defeating the giant Goliath. Saul was approximately more than 6 feet tall and the bible said he was a tall man. So imagine the height of Goliath! I believe he was at least nine feet tall and lil David who was a shepherds boy took down Goliath with a pebble.

I believe we have to learn to be a Giant Killer to overcome the adversities in our lives and be all that God has called us to be.
Here are a few things I have learnt about being a giant killer.

1.) Giant killers never begin as giant killers
Be faithful in what you have been given and enjoy the season you're currently in. David had to learn to defeat bears and wolves as a shepherd.

2.) Giant killers look at the reward not the giants.
Imagine what your life would be like if Fear was eliminated from your life.

3.) Giant killers don't listen to doubting criticism
This can be one of the giants that can bring you down.

4.) Giant killers will build on past victory.
Your past victory is important. What God has done for you in the past, he can do it again/. Remembering the Lord's goodness in your past will make you more confident in the uncertainty of your future.

God uses giants to fashion us, fashion us to reign and rule!
